Suwannee & Hamilton Training a Huge Success
24 youth from Suwannee County and 11 youth from Hamilton County participated in a leadership training sponsored by the Youth Advocacy Partnership on Friday, June 20 at Camp Weed. The event was hosted by the Youth Leadership Initiative, a community-based group of high school student leaders. The Initiative is focused on equipping young people with the skills necessary to identify areas of personal concern, and fostering a desire to improve the world around them through powerful and positive leadership. Members of the Youth Leadership Initiative have many unique opportunities to do things such as presentations at the middle and elementary schools, presentations to a Senate Committee, and travelling to state and national conferences. The event was very successful, kicking off an exciting year for the Youth Leadership Initiative and the Sound Check Campaign.
